Somatic Experiencing® Introduction Workshops

The two-day Somatic Experiencing® Introduction Workshop is meant for professionals curious about the SE approach to trauma healing and possibly considering the longer SE training. It aims to provide the participants with theoretical understanding as well as personal experience on Somatic Experiencing approach. 

Workshops are delivered by Mariëlle Maaswinkel, an international Somatic Experiencing trainer.

The Introduction Workshop covers the following topics:

• Definition of trauma from an SE perspective
• What is SE and why it is different from other therapies?
• The key concepts and foundational principles of SE
• The Autonomic Nervous System and the physiological bridge to psychology
• Resilience and self-regulation
• Demos and videos
• Experiential exercises

Adequate time will be allowed for questions.

The workshop is particularly suited for those who encounter in their work traumatized clients or those suffering from post-traumatic and/or chronic stress. Examples include psychologists, psychotherapists, medical doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals, teachers, social workers, body therapists and other therapists.

If you are interested in the three-year Somatic Experiencing Professional Training, you will need to take this two-day Introduction Workshop first. However, a commitment to the training is not required for the Introduction Workshop. You can participate in this Workshop only as a professional addition, to better understand people who have experienced trauma.

OTHER

The Introduction Workshop will be organised via Zoom from 10:00 to 5:30 pm Finnish time (Eastern European Time, UTC+03:00) both days with a lunch break from 1 pm to 2:30 pm. The Zoom-link will be send to the participants a couple of days before the start of the Workshop. 

The language of instruction is English. 

PRICE AND REGISTRATION

The price of the Introduction Workshop is €270 + VAT 25,5% (or 0% if the reverse charge procedure for VAT applies).

Only by making the payment will you be reserved a place for the Workshop. Places are limited. 

CANCELLATION TERMS

a) If the participant cancels their participation no later than two weeks before the start of the course (the date will be confirmed when the invoice is sent), €200 of the participation fee will be refunded. After this date, the participation fee will not be refunded.  

b) If the organizer, Somatic Experiencing Finland, cancels the training, the paid registration/participation fee will be refunded in full. However, the organizer is not responsible for the costs that may have been caused by other cancellations by the participant (babysitter, etc.).

c) If the training days have to be postponed for reasons beyond the control of the organizer (e.g. trainer's illness), registration will be postponed to a new time. In this case, the refund will not be granted automatically. However, the participant has the right to cancel their participation no later than 2 weeks before the start of the training as in point (a).
